About

Hello! šŸ™‚

My name is Rainelda, Iā€™m from a small country in the Baltic States ā€“ Latvia. In 2022 I started to travel full-time in a motorhome through Europe with my boyfriend Oskar and I absolutely love this lifestyle!

Looking back, I’m not even sure when the traveling bug bit me and didn’t allow me to settle down and live a quiet life. One of my first huge travel adventures was when I was seven years old – my father had a work conference in Venice, Italy and my mother and I went along. I remember very little of the trip, just some fragments from the city, how we ate so much ice cream, and drove by train to different Italian towns but it’s definitely one of the biggest highlights of that time in my childhood.

Over the years, when I was growing up, my father traveled quite a lot, mainly because of his job and so my mother and I came along on a few of those trips. The destinations weren’t always that far away from Latvia – we mostly went to Estonia, Poland, and Lithuania.

In my teenage years, I had more and more opportunities to travel – I had an international trip from my school’s orchestra where I was playing violin, to Bonn, Germany. Later, I had many, many trips – with music collectives, with my mother, and when I was 18 years old, by myself.

Why do I love to travel?

The answer may sound very cliche but I love to have adventures, I dislike being in one place for a longer period of time and not having anything exciting lined up. I have always had a deep desire to learn more about different cultures, and see how people live in different places. And I love to capture the world around me in the pictures I take and have always wanted to show how I see the world through the camera lens so I guess this is also a way I can show others what a beautiful place this world is.

With whom do I travel?

When I met my boyfriend Oskar in 2020, he was living in the UK and I was in Latvia. We didn’t even think about the future that much because we didn’t know what life would look like for each of us. On the third date, we met in Berlin to explore a little bit of Germany and the Czech Republic for a week. It was the best spontaneous trip that I have ever had and I realized that Oskar is as intrigued by the world as I am. And now we live in a motorhome travelling slowly through Europe. I guess we truly didn’t need to worry about the future but just allow ourselves to dream and work towards those goals.

What are our plans for the near future?

I don’t like planning things very far ahead because a lot changes and the changes can be unpredictable. Currently we have taken a three-month short break from travelling and are visiting relatives in the United Kingdom. But I hope that after our short pause, we will explore a little bit of the UK, then head to France, and then who knows where to next. šŸ™‚
